What is OC?

Generally associated with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), a condition wherein someone follows a certain ritualized behaviors such as washing of hands, constant checking, excessive organizing and symmetry – but not if pop culture has anything to say about it.

Now, people who seem to be joined at the hip with their to-do lists, blissfully married to their daily planner and have nicknames for each of their highlighters are referred to as OCs. Other characteristics of an OC are a goal oriented individual, puts value in having peace of mind through clever organization and unbelievable decluttering skills.

Celebrities such as Harry Potter’s Emma Watson, pop star Hilary Duff, Gossip Girl cutie Chace Crawford and soccer superstar David Beckham all claim to be hit by the OC bug.
