Post It - What does your favorite color say about you?

The use of colors and its meanings has been around since the beginning of time. Different religious beliefs, cultures and even our history’s greatest thinkers and scientists have taken interest in understanding colors.

In a study done by Mark Youngberg, AAA Painting Contractors, Inc. about the use of color in one’s workstation reveal that it’s a powerful emotional stimulus that could energize, inspire, calm, soothe or keep a person focused. And in this world of school and office supplies, Post-it® Notes by 3M believe that to yield amazing results, a splash of color is all you need.

Yellow is associated with optimism, happiness and good times. Experts believe that when people are around this color, the brain actually releases more Serotonin which is often referred to as the brain’s feel good chemical. Other studies show that it stimulates the neurons to enhance concentration, hence the color of legal pads and the original Post-it® Notes in Canary Yellow™ by Art Fry in the 70s.

Blue is considered as a tranquil and peaceful color. Research has proven that when exposed to the color blue, most people become relaxed because the body instantly produces chemicals that are calming. So if you have a bit of bad news to your boss, be sure to write it on a blue Post-it® Note to lower his blood pressure.

Orange is one of the most energetic colors in nature. It represents warmth, excitement and energy. They say that if you want to start people talking, write your reminders or questions on an orange Post-it® Note because curiosity is a driving characteristic of orange, and with it comes exploration of new things.

Green is the color of nature, fertility, life. It is a restful color but at the same time it is also the symbol of vibrancy and life.
